Last month I ran across the current study of competitiveness of European regions. Here is the link with to-be-expected results. The Nethelands, Belgium, the regions around Paris and London, some German regions as well as some Scandinavian regions are the winners from last year's contest. The bad side of it is, of course, the Eastern regions lagging (eyernally) behind and the Southern regions losing ground.
Also I want to highlight a recent study on how competitive the Colombian regions are. The study, of course, differs quite a lot from the one cited above about Europe but nonetheless it is worth reading. The output is quite foreseeable as well, as the most competitive regions are the ones around the largest cities in the country. Here is the link to this other study.
I only hope, my regions in Europe and Colombia will get a better ranking by the end of the present year. Besides, I wish a common methodology was used for that kind of studies worldwide, then comparisons among regions from all over the world would be straightforward.
